WALLINGFORD, CT — The Wallingford Public Works Department will begin picking up natural Christmas trees in all sections of town beginning on Monday, Jan. 10. Residents must have Christmas trees ready to be picked up at the curbside no later than Sunday, Jan. 9, according to the Public Works Department. Trees must be clean of ornaments, bows, tinsel, etc. No plastic bags or wreaths will be picked up. This is a one-time pickup, officials said. Wallingford residents can recycle their natural Christmas trees at the Compost Area on John Street from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday, Thursday and Saturday, until Saturday, Jan. 15. The Compost Area will be CLOSED for the season as of Jan. 15. For more information, contact the Public Works Department at 203-294-2105.
