FALMOUTH, MA — A woman was hit by a dump truck Wednesday morning in Falmouth, police said. The crash happened at 10:34 a.m., in the parking lot outside Express Mart on Alphonse Street in Falmouth. Police said the dump truck was backing up and struck a woman who was standing behind it. According to the preliminary investigation, the truck's backup warning was working properly, and the woman was distracted by her cell phone, police said. Emergency officials took the woman to a nearby hospital. Police said her injuries were not life-threatening.
