HAMDEN, CT — The town will begin curbside pickup of Christmas trees on Monday, Jan. 10 and end on Friday, Jan. 14, Public Works Director Matthew Kott announced Thursday.
After the collection ends on Jan. 14, Hamden residents will be responsible for bringing the tree for disposal to the Transfer Station, according to Kott.
Trees should be free of all wrappings, lights and decorations. The pickup will be town-wide.
Residents can take their discarded trees, both real and artificial, to the Transfer Station at 231 Wintergreen Ave. (open Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m., as well as the first and third Saturdays of the month from 8 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.).
