ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington Public Library will be making a limited number of COVID-19 Rapid Antigen At-Home Test Kits available for free at 12 p.m. on Thursday, according to Arlington Public Health. APL is dividing 2,000 tests proportionately across all library locations. The rapid tests, which were provided by the Virginia Department of Health, expire quickly, so they must be used immediately. In the past week, there has been a 35 percent increase nationwide in pediatric hospitalizations due to the spread of the omicron coronavirus variant. This has sparked a growing demand for Rapid Antigen At-Home Test Kits. Due to this increased demand and the limited number of tests available, APL expects the test kits to quickly go out of stock. More guidance on antigen tests is available from VDH. Related: COVID Hospitalizations Among Children Up In VA As Omicron Spreads Below are some testing options in Arlington.
