Here are the top stories today in Austin: Austin-Travis County is moving back to stricter Stage 4 COVID-19 guidelines as omicron variant cases continue to surge statewide ahead of the new year. (Austin Patch) A teen from Kentucky, who has been missing for over a week, was found in Austin on Monday, according to the Austin Police Department. (Austin Patch) In a message released to Austin ISD families and staff on Wednesday, Austin ISD said it is "prepared for omicron" ahead of its Jan. 5 return-to-class date. (Austin Patch)Austin Animal Center announced Wednesday it is at critical capacity with 493 animals at the shelter and is issuing an emergency plea for help.
