The events include Extra Chill New Year's Eve at LO-Fi Brewing, New Year's Eve 2021 at The Royal American, We're Feeling 2022 at Uptown Social, and The Countdown to 2022 at King Street Dispensary. (Charleston City Paper) Charleston Gibbes Museum's first-ever hip-hop show is inspired by the art of Romare Bearden. He honed in on Black life and struggles to achieve equality and respect. Bearden was awarded the National Medal of Arts one year before he passed. (Charleston Scene) The CDC is investigating a Charleston-based cruise ship for potential COVID cases. The Carnival Sunshine was supposed to leave the Port of Charleston in mid-Jan., but they currently have a yellow status which prompted the investigation.
