ST. CHARLES, IL — During a time of the year when gift-giving in common, a server at the Spotted Fox Ale House recently received an unexpected holiday bonus meant to brighten up her holidays. Natalie Pacheco was the recipient of a $500 tip she received from a generous customer who left a kind note on the check, commending the server on her great attitude. The Spotted Fox included the photo on its Facebook page last week. The note included a message to go buy the 18-year-old server something for Christmas, according to the post, which said that restaurant management rushed into the kitchen when they heard someone screaming. Turns out, it was the popular server, who is a St. Charles North graduate and freshman at Chicago State University, according to the Kane County Chronicle. "When I was trying to type it into the computer, I saw the amount," Pacheco told the newspaper. "I didn't fully process it until I had to type in every single number there was. I went to my boyfriend and said, 'Look at this.' And then I started screaming with joy. The owner was there as well, and he asked what was going on. And I showed him as well and he was happy. The newspaper reported that Pacheco normally only works weekends at the Spotted Fox, but decided to take an extra shift on Dec. 23. She said that she always tries to put a positive attitude on display for her customers, which paid off when she received the generous tip. "That's how my parents raised me," Pacheco told the Kane County Chronicle. "I give my customers good energy. I'm a really happy person. I feel that if I'm happy, then somehow, I will make them happy."
