Need brakes and check engine light looked at

Had a mechanic replace the brake booster and oxygen sensor and the brakes are still bad and the check engine light is still on. Need someone that knows what there doing and can actually fix this. Pads have been replaced also. 2001 toyota tacoma, 4cyl. P0171 fuel system too lean (bank1) is the reading.
