I recently inquired about a puppy that was more than I was willing to pay and let them know it very nicely. I googled the area code and it was in a state on the west coast. I deleted the text conversation with that poster.
Days later, I got a text that they had 2 left, which one did I want, and the price was more reasonable. They gave me an address but said they were a nurse and on-duty. Could I come after 5? Next text was they needed a $50 deposit to hold her. We went back and forth and because I was unwilling to pay a deposit, there was no more texts from them. I tried calling them and got a message that it was a computer generated message only.
Moral of the story....don't put a deposit down and call them to be sure it's legit.
