Dig Out Crawlspace A 44’ by 26’ house crawlspace needs to have some dirt removed to achieve 12” of clearance under the beams and 18” clearance under the floor joist. Also, large dirt clods and trash need to be removed, too. There is no subfloor installed so you will be able to stand up to work. But there are floor joists and plumbing you will have to carefully work around. The removed dirt will be piled onto a trailer, that I will provide, to be hauled away. I estimate it will take 2 people 16 hours to complete the work using shovels and picks.
