Guitarists/Drummers/Bassists ~ All Skill Levels

Description

Hello there, random person (or aspiring musician) reading this…..if you couldn’t guess by the title, your instrumental skills are needed…. Guess I should start by introducing myself….the name is Jalen Christian Marsh; although, I go by ‘Jay’ to friends and family. I’m currently a nineteen year old History Major at the illustrious ‘Kean University’. No, I do not study music formally….but I do spend quite a bit of time with my nose all up in ‘Music Theory’s ass. I am a bassist/guitarist (been playing guitar for way longer but bass is a bit more fun to me and I would like to continue on it) that has now been a part of three groups. One of them playing guitar in Christian Worship stuff back in my hometown church; the second doing guitar again in Spanish Rock around a few clubs in Elizabeth (that was certainly a new experience), and the third group was as a bassist for a little Punk Rock group formed on my campus known as ‘Blank Slate’. Enough about me, now about you…. Currently working up on recruitment for yet another group in my ‘career’, I always enjoy ‘paying my dues’ and working up my skills around other musicians (in all honesty, that’s the only way you can truly get better). Don’t be nervous if you want to take part, I’m not looking for any ‘standout’ musicians….nor do I care about the amount of gear you have or how expensive your instruments are. I love working with ‘beginners’ (typically they have the most drive, passion, and potential) and building them up as musicians is always a fun route to go down. So if you can only strum and sing, play root notes, or bang out a basic 4/4 beat….this is a place for you. Any musician that feels that their skill level is higher than the ‘beginner’ stage, feel free to take part as well…..having someone to push along side me for greatness is a beautiful gift to have. Can’t wait to get playing, writing, performing, and recording with you. Ok, I’ve talked way too much. - Jalen ‘Jay’ C. Marsh
