Student leadership event for 7th through 9th grade This inspirational training, facilitated by Nigel Wrangham (Nationally Recognized Youth Leadership Master Trainer) and led by our student leaders of TECH (Teens Encouraging Community Health), will provide youth valuable problem-solving skills, and empower them to become change-makers in the areas of substance abuse prevention and mental health promotion. Participants can also earn volunteer hours for attending. The mission of Influence the Choice is promotion of mental, physical and social wellness for middle school through high school-aged youth in the greater Issaquah community.  We accomplish this mission through networking community resources and facilitating strategic action planning aimed at changing community norms.Influence the Choice - Healthy Youth Healthy Community (ITC) is a prevention alliance working for a healthy, thriving community. It is comprised of a minimum of twelve community sectors: parents, youth, schools, business owners, medical professionals, government, media, faith-based organizations, organizations serving youth, civic or volunteer organizations and law enforcement, all working together to build a drug-free community. Influence the Choice was a recipient of a Drug Free Community grant for 2013 - 2018. In 2018, Influence the Choice was awarded a second (continuation) Drug Free Community federal grant, providing $125,000 for each of the next five years, 2018 through 2023.  Thanks to the City of Issaquah and the greater Issaquah community for supporting the grant application and our youth substance abuse prevention efforts.
