Harford County Peer Coalition Lunch/Meeting
The Harford County Peer Coalition will be comprised of people living in substance use recovery or with a history of substance use, however that may be individually defined, working to support others with a history of substance use. The purpose of the Coalition will be to support, strengthen, and expand upon the work of peers in Harford County. The Coalition will be by peers, of peers, and for peers.
Recent conversations with people working in the field in the County have highlighted the diverse roles that peers serve. Several barriers to effective peer work have been brought forth. The Peer Coalition will be a place for peers to gather, share, support each other, brainstorm, and organize will strengthen the existing local peer workforce, support peer workforce growth, and improve the quality of peer services provided countywide. In the end, what the Peer Coalition is will depend on what we decide, as peers, it should be.
Lunch will be provided!
