Naïm AmorClub Congress Plaza Thursday, January 13 7pm / $10 Naim Amor As a working musician, I have privileged my local music activities to gigs in bars and restaurants. It is something I really enjoy and I manage to have a variety of outlets that doesn’t make it boring ( and it pays the bills). Playing shows versus gigs is a bit more complicated, it requires the energy of several other musicians, practices etc for very few opportunities. It is simply not possible to play every week locally , you have to bring an audience versus playing the gig in a restaurant to a built in audience that doesn’t necessarily come to see/ear just you. However , the Covid crisis and it's lockdowns have put me at work on new albums . Three albums, one collaboration with John Convertino released in Japan in September 2020, another collaboration with Kid Congo Powers that is about ready to be mixed (not released yet!), and a personal album also about ready to be mixed (not released either !). This is the content of this last album that I am ready to present to the public in the format of a show, a concert. The line up includes the musicians who recorded the album at Jim Waters studio Waterworks, Thoger Lund on bass, Casey Hadland on drums and Ben Nisbet on guitar. The rarity of my show performances will be the opportunity to also play some content from those other recent albums. I'll have a couple additional musicians on stage , Stephen Dorocke (Handsome Family ) on lap steel and maybe Ben Degain on keys or vibraphone . Naim Amor
