Description

#NoFair: We need justice and accountability for Andrew Joseph III Every year, the Andrew Joseph Foundation (www.andrewjosephfoundation.com) is present at the US Highway 301 entrance to protest the Florida State Fair. Why? Because in 2014, a 14-year-old Black child attended the fair, was racially profiled by the Sheriff's Office, and was detained. He was searched and photographed, but it was determined he had not done anything wrong. Despite this, he was still forced out of the Fairgrounds and the Sheriff's Office transported him off the property, abandoning him near a dark, busy highway. At no time had anyone from the Sheriff's Office nor the Fairgrounds made any attempt to contact this young minor's parents, instead, leaving him far away from his pickup point. Tragically, in his attempt to get back to the right place, this young boy was struck by a car and died. To this day, no one has yet been accountable in any way. That young boy was Andrew Joseph III, known as "Pee Wee", and he should still be here. COVID 19 Warning: In order to protect yourself and others from COVID-19, it's requested you wear a cloth mask that covers your mouth and nose and maintain social distancing as much as possible. This is a family friendly event. Please feel free to bring children and elders of all ages. We are never too young or too old to fight for justice. PARKING: Parking may be limited. Carpooling is suggested when possible. Many individuals park at the Winghouse across the street, however, the Foundation cannot be responsible for any loss or expense that may happen as a result of parking.
