Over the course of the next 7 years, he gained experience in financial reporting, tax, and audit. His experience ranges from auditing mid–sized companies throughout the state of Michigan in industries that include financial institutions, insurance companies, non-profits, and manufacturers to preparing tax returns for businesses and individuals as well as preparing financial statements and reports for public traded companies. During his time as a CPA with a large regional firm, he recognized that small businesses are an underserved community. From his experience as a CPA, Dale launched Ashton Business Consulting.
