JACKSONVILLE, FL (December 27, 2021) Memorial Hospital of Jacksonville opens five new operating rooms (OR) this month bringing its total number of OR's to 29. The new additions were constructed with an investment cost of $24.6 million. (Photos of new OR attached).
"We identified the necessity for the new OR's based on the growing needs for surgical services in the community," said Tammy Razmic, Chief Operating Officer at Memorial Hospital. "The new OR's will primarily be used by our cardiologists performing open heart and vascular surgeries, and by our orthopedic surgeons."
The five new OR's will create 10 new job opportunities consisting of five Registered Nurses and five OR technicians.
"We are constantly looking at ways to expand, innovate and grow to meet the demands of our growing community," said Razmic.
