LEESBURG, VA — A stabbing was reported at the Leesburg Premium Outlets on Monday afternoon, according to a report from the Leesburg Police Department. A man has been arrested and charged with attempted murder and aggravated malicious wounding, police said. Authorities identified the man as 34-year-old Corinthian Witcher from Bristow. He was taken into custody without further incident when officers arrived on the scene, according to the police report. The stabbing occurred around 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 28. A caller told the police department's Emergency Communications Center that a 27-year-old woman had been stabbed at the Leesburg Premium Outlets, near The Children's Place. The caller reported that the suspect had fled the area on foot, armed with a knife. The suspect ran towards the Sycamore Hill subdivision behind the outlets, police said. Officers responded to the subdivision and located the suspect, who they later identified as Witcher. He was taken into custody near the intersection of Potomac Station Drive NE and Lilac Terrace NE. The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment of her injuries. Authorities said she suffered serious injuries to the upper-body, but they are not considered life-threatening. During their investigation, officers determined that Witcher and the victim knew each other. They also determined that Witcher was the only suspect, and there was no further danger to the public. Witcher is being held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center. He is charged with aggravated malicious wounding and attempted murder. The stabbing is still under investigation.
