Press release from Albuquerque Public Schools: December 28, 2021 The Albuquerque Public Schools Board of Education was recently named the Large District Board of Education of the Year by the New Mexico School Boards Association.  The board received this award for their devotion and compassion for all students, their work to prioritize the interest of students despite controversy, opposition, or pushback, and their efforts to put academic achievement and student wellbeing at the center of all their votes.  Executive Director Joe Guillen said the APS board has been extremely active in attending, participating in and serving in leadership positions at NMSBA regional and state events, training sessions and committee meetings.  They have always been ready to share their knowledge and experience.   Superintendent Elder expressed thanks for the board's passion and relentless work on behalf of the youngest members of our community so that they may experience success not only in school but in life.  This press release was produced by Albuquerque Public Schools.
