HERNDON, VA — Town of Herndon Police facilities in are closed to the public until further notice, according to a message posted Wednesday afternoon on the department's official Twitter account. Critical staff will still be working 24/7; however, no police business will be conducted in the lobby of police headquarters. The decision to close the lobby was made in order to ensure the health and safety of police officers and staff, as the number of COVID-19 case continue to rise across the state, according to a department spokeswoman. On Wednesday, Fairfax County made staffing adjustments to fire department after 66 employees tested positive for COVID-19. In the event of an emergency, the public should still call 911.
