WESTFIELD, NJ — The Summit Health Urgent Care Center announced yesterday it will temporarily close its Westfield location in order to preserve staff at its various sites. The urgent care on 574 Springfield Avenue in Westfield closed on Tuesday, Dec. 28 and will remain closed until further notice, according to Summit Health's Facebook post. Summit Health's urgent care centers in Berkeley Heights, Florham Park and Livingston remain open for patients. COVID-19 testing is available at these sites, but Summit Health said, "Due to limited capacity and the need to prioritize patients needing urgent medical attention, asymptomatic and mildly symptomatic patients (based on specific criteria) who are seeking a COVID-19 test may be asked to return at a scheduled appointment time that can be made at check in." On its website, Summit Health said if it cannot accommodate patients shortly after they arrive, they will be given a time to return, and patients should not call for an appointment ahead of time. Those in need of a COVID-19 test can also use New Jersey's COVID-19 test finder to find a testing center near them.
