Teens Arrested, Charged With Burglary In Stafford: Police

STAFFORD COUNTY, VA — A pair of teenagers from Maryland were arrested on Wednesday in Stafford County, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office. Police claimed the teens were responsible for a burglary attempt on Wednesday and a burglary and vehicle theft at the same location on Dec. 13. Around 2 a.m. on Wednesday, Stafford deputies responded to an alarm activation at Truckin Thunder on Commerce Parkway. When deputies arrived on the scene saw flashlights near the back of the business, according to the police report. Deputies said they ordered the suspects to stop, but the two people fled the scene on foot. The deputies chased them across Warrenton Road towards the Rio Car Wash, police said. One suspect was apprehended on Falkirk Court, while the other was taken into custody near Spring Knoll Plaza. Authorities identified the suspects as a 14-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy from Germantown, Maryland. Due to laws designed to protect the identities of minors, the names of the teens have not been publicly released. During their investigation, deputies determined that the suspects attempted to force their way into Truckin Thunder through the front door. Two vehicles on the premises showed signs of forced entry as well. The deputies also recovered a bag that they believe contained tools used during the burglary attempt. Authorities also connected the suspects to a previous break-in at Truckin Thunder that occurred on Dec. 13. In that incident, multiple vehicles were broken into and Jeep was stolen. The Jeep was later recovered in Maryland, police said. The teens are charged with attempted burglary, tampering with a vehicle, and conspiracy to commit a felony in connection with the December 29th incident. They faces charges of burglary, grand larceny, and conspiracy to commit a felony in connection with the December 13th burglary. They are being held at the Rappahannock Juvenile Detention Center.
