Description
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Fit for the Frontlines, a virtual activity challenge hosted by the Howard Hospital Foundation, will kick off Jan. 1 and run through Jan. 31. Participants choose to complete 800, 1,000 or 1,700 total minutes of physical activity in January and submit their activity minutes online throughout the month.
"Now more than ever, as we continue to serve on the front lines of the evolving COVID-19 pandemic, we need the community's ongoing support to fund critical initiatives," Elizabeth Edsall Kromm, vice president of population health and advancement for the hospital, said. "Fit for the Frontlines is a great opportunity for friends, families, groups and businesses to enjoy friendly competition and experience fitness programs offered by facilities throughout Howard County."
The individuals and teams who achieve the most physical activity—whether jogging, walking the dog, virtual yoga or visiting a playground, for example—will win prizes. All participants will receive a long-sleeve challenge shirt, activity classes and facility memberships provided by event sponsors and a post-challenge party at the Color Burst Ice Rink in downtown Columbia.
Individual registration costs $30 with discounts available for hospital employees and health care workers. Sponsorships are available. To learn more and register, visit bit.ly/Fit-For-Frontlines.
