Description

Press release from City of Fort Worth: December 28, 2021 The Fort Worth Police Department and Fort Worth Fire Department remind residents that celebrating with fireworks is not only dangerous, but illegal in the city and punishable by a fine of up to $2,000. Additionally, celebratory firearm discharge is illegal in the city limits and punishable up to a year in jail and a $4,000 fine, not to mention the potential danger to human life and property. For the upcoming New Year's holiday period, FWPD and FWFD have streamlined the citation process and disposition procedures of confiscated fireworks to assist both departments in responding to as many calls as possible while maintaining response availability to all other calls for service. To report the use of fireworks in the city, call 817-392-4444. Do not call 911. Residents can also report illegal fireworks use by using the MyFW app. Download the app to your smartphone and click on the red banner at the bottom of the screen. Fireworks reports may also be made by email.  Celebrate responsibly and bring in the New Year with the safety and welfare of the community in mind.   Get articles like this in your inbox.
