Thieves Driving White Kia Steal Tacos Maui's Register: Sheriff

JOLIET, IL — The Will County Sheriff's Office has announced that the Tacos Maui restaurant just outside the city of Joliet limits had its cash register stolen during an overnight crime that happened back on Dec. 18. Tacos Maui is located in the 1900 block of South Chicago Street, in the Preston Heights area of Joliet Township. According to sheriff's office reports, around 2:30 a.m., two people threw a cinder block through the glass window of the Tacos Maui. After invading the restaurant, the two thieves stole the cash register, which had $60 inside, authorities said. The thieves were driving a white Kia Forte, police announced. New Lenox police reported a similar incident around 3:10 a.m. and Mokena police reported a similar incident, with the same vehicle description, around 3:30 a.m., according to county police.
