Inland Valley Humane To Begin Dog License Canvassing In 2022

GLENDORA, CA — The Inland Valley Humane Society and the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals are partnering up to make sure Glendora residents have current licenses for their dogs in the new year. The two organizations will canvas the city for dog licenses starting in January, according to Glendora officials. License inspectors will conduct contactless canvassing and will not knock on residents' doors. Dog licensing is a way for the humane society to keep track of canines in Glendora. It's also a way to make sure dogs are up to date on their rabies vaccination, according to the IVHS. By California law, all dogs that are over the age of four months or that have been living with a resident for more than 30 days must be up to date with their rabies vaccination and have a valid license, Glendora officials said. Licenses cost $30 for a neutered dog, $50 for an unneutered dog and $10 for a neutered senior dog. Dog owners with a lapsed license will have to pay a $50 late fee, city officials said.
