The Funk Project is not a band. It is a massive side project for anyone who wants to stretch out with the funk. There will be more than one band that will come out of it. Our bigger events will include multiple singers and soloists, just like a P-Funk Party. Think of it as club for pop-rock funkateers, funk fusionists, and of course hard-core funksters. Or perhaps a union for the Funk. We will have multiple acts ranging from straight funk to fusion to rap. We will provide back up for touring and local artists, studio projects, and of our course our own stable of singers and soloists. Bass and drums are pretty set, but still want to hear from you. We need keyboard players, lead and backup vocalists, horn players (solo and section). We have a couple of guitar players, but definitely want to hear from more of you. Open to any other kind of instrument if you can make it work with The Funk. We don't need anyone to make a major commitment. You contribute musically what you can, when you can. Everything works around the members. We want the best players and y'all are already in bands, so this will always operate as a side project. But if you are pro, you really NEED to be part of this as we will also be acting as a (free) referral service for out members. Currently, we get together on Sunday afternoons in Clearwater. It's all about the groove, baby!
