Swofford Excavating We are currently seeking an experienced Excavation and Utilities Grade Checker\Laborer Labor\Grade Checker Job Duties and responsibilities • Unload tools and set up equipment as needed • Follow project instructions from construction manager or supervisor • Consult with construction plans • Direct traffic safely around the construction or road maintenance site • Use construction and maintenance tools and equipment to complete daily tasks • Follow all health and safety regulations when operating equipment • Ensure regulated and proper headgear, ear plugs, gloves, safety glasses and clothing are worn • Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner • Safely operate a variety of tools • Properly setup orbital laser and read plans and set grades using a Lenker Rod • Prepare new construction sites by digging, moving dirt, or compacting space • Ability to lift 50lbs on a daily basis • Clean and clear debris and hazardous materials • Ensure construction equipment and tools are cleaned and stored properly Qualifications • 2-Year minimum experience working in excavation\underground utilities • Experience with demolition, excavation, grading, road construction, and underground utilities • Critical thinking and high function problem solving are a must • Willingness to work 40+ hours per week and weekends on an as needed basis • Willingness to work out of town as needed • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record Benefits • Wage rates will be compensated upon experience and qualifications o 22-27$ per hour for labor\grade hop (must meet all qualifications) Private sector rate Most jobs are our of town prevailing wage rate is 50+ an hour (Hotel paid for) • With Paid Time Off • Medical Insurance Available after (60) days • 401K Come Check out the website.
