Description
Patchy is a one year old fixed well behaved male who won’t leave your side. He loves to sleep in the sink and loves to make biscuits. Patchy showed up on my property this summer after presumably being dumped in the field across the street. He arrived with a worn out collar, was malnourished to the point I could see his spine, and he was frightened of people. Nobody claimed him when I advertised him as found online. Eventually with a lot of treats and coaxing, his sweet side came out and he proved to be one of the most loving cats I’ve ever met. Patchy has been indoors for months now and has excellent house manners. He must be indoor only in his new home. He loves other cats, really really likes kids, and gets along with smaller dogs. He has been fixed, chipped, vaccinated and fully vetted. The only time he has ever gotten mad at me was when I stepped on his tail and he didn’t hurt me - he’s very calm. Here’s the only catch- he is FIV positive. Before you let that influence you to turn him down as a pet, let me explain that FIV is the equivalent of human HIV and can only be transmitted in very certain ways. It can ONLY be transmitted via BLOOD TO SALIVA or BLOOD TO BLOOD contact — possible only through a very deep bite or wound to wound contact, ONLY to other cats. Not transferable to humans or any other animal. He is not aggressive and has not infected any of the other cats in my household (yes I’ve had them tested multiple times) so this will not be an issue if you have other cats at home. The vet told me the only thing to worry about is a slightly lower immune system, thusly he should not come in contact with other wild animals who can make him sick - thusly the strictly indoor policy. Don’t worry, he is completely healthy and happy despite his diagnosis & I have the papers to prove it. Patchy is a wonderful animal in need of a loving forever home. He’s adorable, he loves to cuddle, he has a very quiet and polite meow, and he has a bright future ahead of him. I would keep him myself, but I rescue cats on the regular and I’m at full capacity with six others in the house. Please consider giving Patchy a chance. He really deserves it.
