Tai chi is about teaching new ways of movement that can be implemented in everyday life.
Described by the Harvard Medical School as "meditation in motion," tai chi is enjoyable and offers great benefits for your body and mind. Benefits include improved mood, increased energy, and assisted recovery from chronic illnesses.
Some things to know before coming to class:
Classes are held at Gabriel Park in Southwest Portland, at the intersection of Southwest 45th Avenue and Vermont Street, near Multnomah Village.Dress in clothes that are comfortable to move and be active in.Folks of all skill levels are welcome! We meet at the shelter, which allows us to meet in all weather conditions. If you have trouble finding us, contact the instructor, Gary Wass at 509-240-6989 - he's happy to help!Due to the financial impact COVID-19 has had on many people, classes are currently free with donations accepted.While tickets on Eventbrite are not required, signing up helps us know how many people to expect and prepare for class accordingly.
