2022 State of Africatown: The 9th Annual African American/African Gathering The ninth annual State of Africatown: The African American African Gathering will be held on Saturday January 22nd, 2022 at Langston Hughes Performing Arts Institute. The inaugural theme for the new year will feature presentations on the dynamic work happening in our community and the path forward in 2022 and beyond. Also on the agenda includes Induction of Elders of Distinction, a showcase of our youth and the annual State of Africatown address. Africatown-Central District is an asset-based community focused on leveraging the positive cultural assets of the African descent community.
