Join Chef John Skaggs for a course on infusing honey and creating flavor blends with simple methods that can be repeated at home. Skaggs is a beekeeper, gardener, U.S. Navy veteran and founder of Heirloom Café and Cooking Caravan. Students will learn how bees’ food can alter the flavor profile of their honey, learn about the various types of honey, and understand how flavor infusions can complement different dishes. Students will infuse honey with flavors such as ginger, orange, vanilla, coriander, cumin, lime, apple, rosemary, thyme and even chili peppers. Each infusion will be sampled with accompaniments. For the honey enthusiast, this class is a perfect companion to Chef John’s Cooking With Honey class.
Mask use:
In accordance with federal and local guidance, mask wearing is required for anyone able while indoors at Columbus State Community College events.
