This is an event with several different experts training and teaching on various topics involving mental health.
Jesus is in the conversation! It is not one without hope!
This is a topic we cover every single year because we simply cannot ignore it as Gen Z is affected by it more than any other generation in history. What does it mean to say that Jesus wants us to "be ok", when many students don't want to be "ok" themselves? This will be a similar format to last years' Mental Health Night if you had the opportunity to attend. We will have worship and different breakout sessions for students. We will be bringing in social workers, mental health experts, and counselors to communicate to students on what it looks like to walk through this themselves and with their friends with the Gospel in mind.
This night also will cater to you as parents. There will be a Parent Breakout session that will give parents a chance to hear from an expert on the topic, ask them questions, and also discuss with one another what partnership might look like. They have prepared some training that I think will be extremely beneficial whether your student is one that struggles with mental health, or not. This is a reality your students are facing in their friendships and awareness can help! I encourage you to attend this night, we will have seating for parents in the back and a separate area for the parent breakout session.
