Seedling starters and pot decorating class with Ruckus Roots Join Ruckus Roots for this kid-friendly workshop that teaches kids how fun it is to plant your own food! Parents and their kids will first paint pots and then learn how to make seedling starters using Who Gives a Crap compostable toilet paper. Take home your newly planted fruit or vegetable and your kids can watch the fruits of their labor grow! Ruckus Roots provides sustainable arts programs to underrepresented communities throughout Los Angeles. Their interactive approach fosters positive experiences centered on intersectional environmentalism and artistic expression. The result is stronger communities and citizens empowered tooo build creative, sustainable futures. Refreshments provided! Sample Imperfect Foods produce and other waste-fighting snacks while you settle in to learn more about seedling starters! Workshop led by: Ruckus Roots *** Help Imperfect Foods save 1,000 pounds of food from going to waste in LA in just a week! We’re partnering with our favorite local eateries to create limited-edition menu items made with Imperfect ingredients. Each dish fights food waste and helps build a better food system. Food Waste Week will support the crucial work that Hollywood Food Coalition is doing to provide the community with food and support. During Food Waste Week, Imperfect Foods will be donating $5 for every dish sold + all event proceeds. Help Imperfect Foods save 1,000 pounds of food from going to waste in LA in just a week!
