Terra Firma Landcare & Design invites you to join us in making your very own, edible Shitake Mushroom Cultivation Log using Maple and Oak. Terra Firma Landcare & Design invites you to join us in making your very own, edible Shitake Mushroom Cultivation Log using Maple and Oak logs we salvaged from a job this past fall. We also found evidence of the pesky Spotted Lanternfly (SLF) on some of the logs and we need your help to remove the egg masses to prevent them from hatching this spring! We will be joined by Chef Ben Beaver of Evergrain Brewing Co. who will showcase his skills and provide us with some tasty Shitake treats. Brian Scott of Deep Hollow Forest Farms will be guiding us with his mushroom cultivation expertise. Penn State Extension's very own Master Watershed experts will be assisting the ID and removal of the SLF. We will provide water and gloves for this event. Feel free to bring the family and friends interested in wildlife preservation, agriculture and good eats!
