Public Review Period Open for the Medfield Community Electricity Program Aggregation Plan Public Hearing Scheduled for January 18, 2022 The Town of Medfield has released the draft Municipal Aggregation Plan (the "Plan") for the Medfield Community Electricity (MCE) Program for public review and comment. The Medfield Community Electricity Program will seek to provide more electricity options and more renewable energy for residents and businesses in Medfield. The Plan describes how the electricity program will be structured and operated. The Plan is available at https://electricity.medfield.net/, Town Hall, and the library. The development of the Medfield Community Electricity Program started with the passing of an authorizing resolution at the 2021 Spring Town Meeting. The Town of Medfield then ran a competitive process to select an experienced energy consultant that would assist with program development and implementation. The Town selected Good Energy, L.P., and Good Energy has been working with Town staff and the Community Choice Aggregation committee in developing the program plan. The Medfield Community Electricity Program will provide multiple options for electricity supply, with different amounts of renewable energy so everyone can find the right balance between their budget and renewable energy. Learn more about the electricity supply choices in the Plan on the program website electricity.medfield.net. Patrick Roche from Good Energy presented a brief overview of the program at the Board of Selectmen meeting on December 21, 2021. A recording of the presentation can be found on MedfieldTV's YouTube page. At the meeting, the Board of Selectmen opened a public review process which will continue until the Board of Selectmen meeting on January 18, 2022. The public is invited to submit comments about the Program Plan on the program website (https://electricity.medfield.net/) or in writing to the Town Administrator's office (Nicholas Milano, [email protected], Assistant Town Administrator, Town of Medfield, 459 Main Street, Medfield, MA 02052). Verbal comments can also be submitted during the Public Hearing which will be held at the Board of Selectmen meeting on January 18, 2022. Following the public review and hearing, the Board of Selectmen will vote on whether to approve the Plan and submit it to the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities (DPU). After review and approval by the DPU, the Town will be able to launch the Program.
