Description
What is squash? It is a racket sport that is played indoors, with two players and a small rubber ball. Players take turns hitting the ball with their racket, towards the front wall, and over a metal strip. The ball must be hit before it bounces twice on the ground, being able to make use of the side and back walls. The player who fails to return loses the point. Experienced squash player Marc Bistricer shares that as a general rule, 5 sets are played at 11 points in each set. The rules of squash Bistricer indicates that the basic rule is: the ball must hit the front wall before touching the ground. Game interference: Bistricer shares that every player has the right to return the ball without interference from the opponent. LET: It means that the referee concedes the repetition of the point and it happens when the player does not go for the ball for fear of colliding with the opponent when there is a clear obstruction. No LET: The arbitrator rejects the request when the interference is minimal or almost zero and when the player who is obstructed is far from a good return. Stroke: It is marked when a player wants to take a shot at the front wall, but gives up in order not to hit his opponent. It can also be marked when the ball hits the opponent on its way to the wall or when one player hits another with the racket. The point is awarded to the person who has hit the ball. Appeal: Bistricer explains that both players have the right to pause the game and request an appeal after the referee's charge. The referee will rectify or reject it. Distraction: Both players may request a let due to a distraction. If it was accidental, it will be awarded, except when it is a winning return. If it was deliberately, it is a warning. Fallen object: When a player drops his racket, he can pick it up and continue playing, as long as the ball did not touch it or it was a distraction.
