Description

MINEOLA, NY — With coronavirus cases surging and lines for testing growing longer, CityMD announced it will temporarily close four urgent-care clinics across Long Island, including one in Mineola. CityMD — which offers rapid and PCR testing for COVID-19 — said the closures are a result of staffing shortages. "Continuing to provide these services to the community is a top priority; however, our physicians and teammates are also a priority," the company said in a statement. "To preserve our ability to staff our sites, we have temporarily closed certain locations. It is our hope that closing sites now will best allow us to avoid future closures as this surge continues." The clinic at 292 Herricks Rd. in Mineola will temporarily close beginning Wednesday, Dec. 29. CityMD advised people to head to its other location in Carle Place (235 Glen Cove Rd.) instead. In addition to the clinic in Mineola, the closures will affect three other Long Island locations — Bay Shore; Merrick; and Patchogue. Dozens of other clinics across New York and New Jersey are also affected. No date was given for when the clinics would reopen. The full list can be found here.
