With that in mind, here's everything you need to know. First, today's weather: Low clouds may break; warm. High: 81 Low: 59. This week's forecast: Quite unseasonably warm weather will close out 2021. A pattern of mainly night into morning low clouds and fog giving way to afternoon sunshine can be expected. A weak cold front Wednesday will bring temporarily drier air Wednesday afternoon. A much stronger front is forecast Saturday evening into Saturday night, bringing much colder temperatures and windy conditions to all areas on Sunday. Here are the top stories today in Austin: In 2021, the average cost for a one-bedroom in the city of Austin was $1,747, according to a rent report by Apartment Guide. That's almost a 30 percent (29.23 percent) jump from 2020. (KVUE.com) After a mass shooting that injured 14 people and killed one person on Austin's 6th Street over the summer, Austin police plans to roll out an initiative to keep the popular tourist destination safe. (KEYE TV CBS Austin) A woman who was repeatedly punched and dragged by police officers in Austin in October during a trespass call that was recorded on cell phone video has sued the city, claiming excessive force. (KXAN.com) Memorial services have been set for former Austin mayor Bruce Todd. Todd died at the age of 72 on Christmas Day from complications of Lewy Body disease. The services will take place in Janaury. (FOX 7 Austin) The Travis County Sheriff's office has issued a warrant for a 25-year-old transient man who is suspected of killing a Manor man on Dec. 14.
