CHATHAM, NJ — How to find COVID tests and information about quarantine periods have been concerns among many of New Jersey's residents. According to the County of Morris, as of Dec. 27, there have been 859 total positive COVID cases in Chatham Borough since the pandemic started in March 2020 and 1,105 in Chatham Township. Chatham Borough's total on Dec. 16 was 602 and the Township's 813. See more about all of Morris County's cases here: https://www.morriscountynj.gov/Residents/Health/Coronavirus#cases. Since the pandemic start, Morris County in total has had 61,445 cases as of Dec. 27, with 1,073 deaths, 270 earmarked "probable," the state's COVID-19 dashboard indicates. Concerned you may have COVID? The State of New Jersey offers an optional, self-assessment tool on its COVID-19 website at www.covid19.nj.gov/forms/self. If you're simply looking for tests, here's where to find known in-person testing locations throughout the region: www.morriscountynj.gov/Residents/Health/Coronavirus/Testing-Sites For Morris County residents who are uninsured, Zufall Health also offers testing, with appointments required. To set up a time, visit www.zufallhealth.org. New Jersey's Department of Health has a statewide testing database, with more information on in-person test sites found here. At home tests are also an option with the state's Department of Health and Vault Medical Services having partnered up to offer the COVID-19 PCR saliva test kit, which is free to New Jersey residents. See more information about ordering these tests here. Pixel by Labcorp is a kid-friendly, nasal swab test option for ages 2+. There's no fee for the test for anyone who is experiencing symptoms, if they've been exposed to someone with COVID, if they've been asked to test by a health department or doctor or if they live or work in a congregate setting. The Pixel tests run $119 though for "peace of mind" or other screenings, such as for travel or school. Click here to learn more about this testing option. Testing is also typically available within the School District of the Chathams for Chatham students and staff, each Friday at Chatham Middle School between 3 and 4 p.m., though there is no testing again within the school district until Jan. 7, because of the holiday break. The State of New Jersey also has a quarantine calculator, that shows how much time to allow if one has symptoms and a positive COVID test, no symptoms and a positive COVID test or if identified as a close contact: www.covid19.nj.gov/pages/quarantine-calculator.
