Plainfield Park District Hires Staff To Oversee Special Events

PLAINFIELD, IL — The Plainfield Park District has a new recreation supervisor to oversee special events, officials announced Tuesday. Kathy Scheiper, a resident of Plainfield along with her husband, Joe, most recently worked as the events and corporate service manager at Addison Park District, officials said in a news release. There, she created a few new programs that increased participation. Movies in the Park, Unplug Illinois and Letters to Santa were all initiatives she created at Addison. With more than 7 years of experience working in the parks and recreation field, Scheiper has held various roles at different park districts and organizations. A graduate of Lewis university, Scheiper worked as programs supervisor at Darien Park District in 2019. From 2015 to 2018, she served as program director and coordinator manager at Westmont Yard Indoor Sports Complex, and between 2014 and 2016, she was as a manager at Sports R Us, a youth sports instruction company serving park districts, grade schools and recreation departments.
