Press release from the City of Peoria: December 28, 2021 Please see the below message from Sie Maroon, Deputy Director of Operations for the City of Peoria Public Works Department: Public Works Snow Fighters are currently on the streets treating our 17 routes city-wide with rock salt and plowing the slush off of the routed main arterial streets.  We are expecting to see approximately 1.5" of wet snow for an accumulation this morning.  In addition, we are looking to see the snow changing over to rain later this morning or early this afternoon.  Because of the warmer ground temperatures the precipitation on the streets is turning to slush immediately making travel more hazardous. Please be aware as you may encounter a salt/plow truck in your travels.  Keep a safe distance as the streets are slippery, especially in low-lying areas, and please travel with caution.  Have a great day!
