PASADENA, CA — All indoor events related to the Rose Parade and Rose Bowl Game will no longer take place amid a rise in COVID-19 cases across Los Angeles County, Pasadena Now reports. The Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association said in a statement that the cancelation was done "out of an abundance of caution," the magazine reported. "The health and well-being of our parade participants and guests, as well as that of our volunteer members, professional staff and partners, remains our number one priority," the association told the magazine. Los Angeles County has seen a major surge in new coronavirus cases fueled by the omicron variant. Hospitalizations have almost doubled in December, and the Southland is poised to top 20,000 daily cases by the new year. Despite the growing concern over COVID-19 cases, the Tournament of Roses said it will still go ahead with the Rose Parade and Rose Bowl Game on New Year's Day.
