December 27, 2021
On December 23, 2021, at approximately 7:00 PM, aDeputy with the Wright County Sheriff's Office was responding to an unknownmedical call on the 400 block of Main Street North, in the City of SaintMichael.
The Deputy arrived on the scene and did not see thevictim on the ground in the unlit driveway. The Deputy pulled in and madecontact with the victim at slow speed causing injury.
The Deputy immediately rendered medical assistance.Paramedics arrived within a minute and took over care. The Deputy secured thescene and the victim was transported to North Memorial Medical Center in MapleGrove where he died a short time later.
The Deputy has been with the Wright County Sheriff'sOffice since September 2020. He is on paid administrative leave at this time.
The Minnesota State Patrol is handling theinvestigation. The Deputy and the Wright County Sheriff's Office are fullycooperating. Any further release of information will be handled by theMinnesota state patrol.
The Wright County Sheriff's Office offers theirdeepest condolences to the family and friends of the victim.
