Press release from the Wright County Government: December 27, 2021 An announcement from the Wright County Sheriff's Office: At approximately 7 p.m. Thursday, December 23, 2021, a Deputy with the Wright County Sheriff's Office was responding to an unknown medical call on the 400 block of Main Street North, in the City of Saint Michael. The Deputy arrived on the scene and did not see the victim on the ground in the unlit driveway. The Deputy pulled in and made contact with the victim at slow speed causing injury. The Deputy immediately rendered medical assistance. Paramedics arrived within a minute and took over care. The Deputy secured the scene and the victim was transported to North Memorial Medical Center in Maple Grove where he died a short time later. The Deputy has been with the Wright County Sheriff's Office since September 2020. He is on paid administrative leave at this time. The Minnesota State Patrol is handling the investigation. The Deputy and the Wright County Sheriff's Office are fully cooperating. Any further release of information will be handled by the Minnesota State Patrol. The Wright County Sheriff's Office offers its deepest condolences to the family and friends of the victim. This press release was produced by the Wright County Government.
