And while many of the same COVID-related challenges will persist, 2022 is expected to bring about a big batch of restaurant openings across the city. Diners can look forward to everything from music-themed brunches to casual small plates to a "modern supper club." (Cleveland Scene)Ohio's minimum wage is going up on the first day of the new year. The minimum wage will be $9.30 for non-tipped employees, a 50-cent increase from the previous wage of $8.80. Employees with tips will get a wage increase of 25 cents to $4.65. Ohio is just one of several states boosting the minimum wage in 2022; many private employers are also increasing their pay rates. (WJW FOX 8 News Cleveland)So far, flights have been mostly on time at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, despite thousands of delays and cancellations throughout the country because of COVID-19 and poor weather. The Cleveland airport saw just nine cancellations between the day after Christmas and Dec. 27th. However, bad weather and COVID-related staffing issues across airlines are expected to continue into the new year.
