BEVERLY HILLS, CA — As the omicron virus quickly spreads throughout the county, Beverly Hills residents can get vaccinated at a local clinic on Jan. 5. COVID-19 vaccines will be offered from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 464 North Rexford Drive, just next to the Beverly Hills Civic Center. The pop-up clinic will offer the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine for individuals over five years old and the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines for individuals 18 years and older. Beverly Hills had 4,576 confirmed cases of the coronavirus as of Monday, nearly 500 more cases than the week before, according to Los Angeles County Public Health data. This rapid spread is especially stark considering 87.6 percent of residents age five and over have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Meanwhile, Los Angeles County saw 7,425 new cases of COVID-19 Sunday, according to LADPH. LA County hospitalizations nearly doubled in December, with unvaccinated individuals 21 times more likely to be hospitalized with COVID-19 than their vaccinated counterparts. "COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective and are recommended for everyone five years old and older to help protect against COVID-19," the LA County department of public health said. Sign up to get a vaccine using the Total Testing Solutions website.
