Please help Doris - victim of hit and run

Good evening everyone, I’m not sure if posts like these are allowed but figured I’d give it a try. On Christmas night, my mom’s basset hound Doris was victim of a hit and run. We were unable to get license plates and our dog was left with multiple fractures to the head and broken jaw. This was confirmed after taking her to VCA Lakewood. Unfortunately they were unable to perform surgery there but they did refer us to a Surgeon/dentist that would be able to perform this type of surgery. The estimate we were given was 4-5K. I was able to pay the $1,800 deposit VCA Lakewood asked for in order to stabilize Doris however I’m unable to come up with those extra 4-5K for Doris’s surgery. if there is anyone out there who is able to help us out, my family and I will truly appreciate it. I’m truly embarrassed, I never thought I’d find myself in this position. I understand that Pets are our responsibility the minute we agree to bring them home. Times just have been specially though these past few months and my parents are just unable to cover this unexpected expense.
