Defensive Vehicles Operations class will give you a better understanding of the dangers of being ambushed while in your vehicle. This one day course will provide much needed training for surviving a gunfight from your car. This is an advanced level training Op. and requires the operator have passed our Dynamics of Defensive Shooting course, or an equivalent course. All shooters will have to demonstrate a solid skills assessment during the first part of the day. Objectives for this class include: Inside the vehicle operations, including • Safely drawing your weapon from your holster • Threat engagements through the windshield. • Threat engagements to driver, and passenger side. Outside the vehicle operations, including: • Safely exiting the vehicle with your weapon. • Moving to safe points of cover on the vehicle. • Point to point movement to cover. Required equipment list includes: Primary weapon, with OWB holster. Minimum 3 magazines, 4 if you have low cap. Weapon. Double Mag carrier. Long pants, that allow movement. Knee pads. Good footwear, no open toe shoes. Eye and ear PPE. Highly recommended gear: Breamed hat. Duty belt. Good boots. Extra mags. Weapon PM gear. All shooters need to bring a cooler with snacks, and lunch, as well as lots of hydration. We will take a working lunch, and not leave the range. You will need 400 rounds of ammo total for the day, but a good operator will always bring more. Bring an open mind, and be ready to kick ass, we shoot rain or shine.
