Furnace/Boiler Repair : Beware

Just a quick post about a guy named Joe Kerstan who posts in Skilled Services on Craigs under Furnace/Boiler Repair. Says he's got "40 years of experience" in HVAC. He came to my elderly mother's house some time ago and was there about 5 hours and supposedly "fixed" whatever was wrong with the oil-burning furnace. Well, the next morning, the whole house was filled with steam, and the furnace wouldn't stop running. She had to call another service tech in the area, and this guy laughed and took pictures of the mess that this Joe guy made of the whole system...wiring, wrong relief valve, the list goes on. Said he couldn't believe what Joe did down there and that it could've blown up the house. To boot, ol' Joe charged her $300 for this shoddy work! Oh, and of course, when she tried to get ahold of him again for an explanation, he "sliced his thumb" on something and was in the hospital. He never did call back to try to make things right... What the hell is wrong with people? Just can't trust anyone. If I can save just one person from dealing with BS from this guy, my job's done. Beware.
